Cornell, a nice little town in Chippewa County, lies along the Chippewa River, brings together the crossroads of Highways 27 and 64, is home to the Worlds Largest Pulpwood Stacker, Burnet Island State Park, and a brewery: MoonRidge Brewing Company. Started by Roger and Cindy Miller, they combined Roger’s knowledge and passion for brewing with Cindy’s flair for creating pizzas to grow the brewery into a hometown favorite. In 2023, two veterans with similar passions and skills took over and today, you’ll find Andrew Clement and Nicholas Raap stewarding the ship and Moonridge.
The Moonridge Brew Pub, right along the main drag in Cornell, serves up craft brews that are all brewed, bottled, and kegged on-site. As of our last check, they were brewing nine varieties, including:
- Haymeadow Irish Style Blond Ale
- Moonlight Light Pilsner
- MoonRidge Honey Brown Ale
- Fisher, a Honeyweizen
- Raft IPA
- Wayside American Amber
- Shaw’s Road, an Irish style ale
- Below the Dam, an Oatmeal Stout
- Rollercoaster, a dark Maple Bock. (Yes, it’s a seasonal!)
Moonridge offers pizzas that use the spent grain from the brewing process in their crusts, an increasingly popular practice. They also offer more regular style crusts, too, with a variety of pizza combos and toppings. They also serve up appetizers that pair well with a good flight of their beers.
