New London really embraces St. Patrick’s Day! The city unofficially changes its name to “New Dublin” (at the behest of the local Shamrock Club) amidst a week of parties and events, culminating with Wisconsin’s largest Saint Patrick’s Day Parade and Irish Fest in New Lond… er, New Dublin’s downtown.
The Grand Parade, which happens Saturday, March 18th this year includes bagpipe bands, marching bands, festive clowns, specialty units, clans, an Irish wake parody, and business floats–up to 125 units or more. Bring the whole family can enjoy this nationally recognized event!
New Dublin Irish Fest
Irish Fest is a music festival held under a huge heated big top. Each year it features three dynamic Celtic bands with a variety of folk, rock and traditional tunes. Various vendors sell Irish food & beverages and there are plenty of market booths to browse.
A Week of Events & Irish Cuisine
St. Patrick’s Day in New Dublin is a week-long celebration that includes an exciting schedule of weeknight activities. They include; Irish entertainment on stage, an Irish Céili and Irish caroling. Corned beef and cabbage is widely served during festivities week in area restaurants and pubs with some places usually having entertainment.
