Milwaukee Summerfest: Day 5 Guide

Here’s what’s up for Friday, July 1st at Summerfest, the World’s Largest Music Festival!

Summerfest 2022 is into its second weekend! This year, Summerfest runs Thursdays through Saturdays for three weeks in a row.

Summerfest is NOT requiring proof of COVID vaccination or a negative test Grounds are open from noon until midnight, per usual.

So, it’s Summerfest DAY 5: Friday, July 1st. And here’s the full info and lineup of performers for today and tonight!

Admissions Promos of the Day:

GENERAC MILITARY APPRECIATION DAY AT SUMMERFEST, noon to 6pm
All active-duty military personnel and veterans who present a valid Military ID, copy or photo of a DD-214 form, or driver’s license with Veteran classification at the designated turnstile at any gate, along with up to four (4) family members, will be admitted for FREE. The Military Appreciation Ceremony, produced in partnership with the War Memorial Center, is at 3:00 p.m. at the Generac Power Stage. It will feature a presentation of colors, vocal performances, and speaker Keni Thomas, Staff Sergeant in the Army and recipient of the bronze star for valor, and award-winning country music artist and songwriter. Thomas was recognized for being part of an elite special operations package, “Task Force Ranger,” that was later recounted in the book and movie “Black Hawk Down.”

KINSHIP COMMUNITY FOOD DAY PRESENTED BY PALERMO’S PIZZA, noon to 3pm
The first 2,000 patrons who donate three (3) non-perishable food items at the Mid Gate receive one (1) FREE Admission ticket valid for the day and time of the promotion. Cooking oil and fruit snack packs (low-sugar applesauce and mandarin oranges) preferred. All donations benefit Kinship Community Food Center.

Summerfest is easy to get to via I-794 (Lakefront or Jackson/Van Buren exits from the west, Milwaukee Street exit from the south), Highway 32, or U.S. 18, the east end of which is right by the north gate for Summerfest. Three shuttles are also available from the College Avenue Park & Ride (south side, off I-94 at Exit #319), the State Fair Park & Ride (76th Street at Kearney, along I-94 in West Allis), or the Brown Deer Park & Ride (I-43/Highway 100/Highway 32 at Brown Deer Road). Shuttles run frequently and cost $12 round trip. You can buy passes ahead of time!
