Milwaukee Summerfest: Day 1 Guide

Here’s what’s up for Thursday, September 2nd as Summerfest 2021 kicks off!
Summerfest 2018 Uline Stage and downtown

Summerfest 2021 kicks off today! After a hiatus last year due to COVID-19, the “World’s Largest Music Festival” is back with a different type of schedule this year: three weekends in a row, Thursdays through Saturdays, each weekend kicking off with a Wednesday concert at the newly-remodeled American Family Insurance Amphitheater. Last night was the Green Day/Fall Out Boy/Weezer show, which played to a packed crowd.

Speaking of, Summerfest is requiring proof of COVID vaccination or a negative test within the previous 72 hours of entry, so be sure to bring that as you go. Masks are recommended for indoor activity (restrooms, for example), but not required. Grounds are open from noon until midnight, per usual.

So, it’s Summerfest DAY 1: Thursday, September 2nd. And here’s the full info and lineup of performers for today and tonight!

Admissions Promo of the Day: It’s Stomp Out Hunger Day at Summerfest in conjunction with the Hunger Task Force. You get a FREE admission ticket from noon to 3pm when you donate three healthy non-perishable items. Canned fruits and vegetables, for example.
