Bull Falls Brewery

Bull Falls Brewery takes its name from the falls along the Wisconsin River as its run through Wausau. They’re known for their craft beers – usually canned – and hosting a series of events and festivals at their brewery, from a Maifest to barbecue events to bands of many genres performing on various nights.

Bull Falls opened in 2007 with an Oktoberfest Lager that proved popular; today they also brew their Five Star Ale, Holzhacker Lager, Hefeweizen, Bock Lager, Bourbon Barrel Stout, Hop Worthy, Irish Red Ale, Marathon Lager (a salute to the former Marathon City Brewery), Midnight Star Schwarzbier, Nut Brown Ale, and Oatmeal Stout.

Brewery tours, done by appointment, cost $5 and feature the brew house, the fermenting and aging area, and the packaging section, along with beer samples and a souvenir mini-stein. They’re available Monday-Friday after 4pm and Saturday after 1pm; they’ll set one up for you if you call 715-842-2337.

Bull Falls Brewery is just south of downtown Wausau, south of Highway 52 and just a few blocks east of Business U.S. 51. I-39/U.S. 51 are west across the river, and Highway 29 is west and south of the city.
