Mashtun Brewing opened in a light industrial park on the east side of Lake Geneva in 2023, a consequence of Covid spawning from those “backyard fence beers” people would have with their neighbors while maintaining social distance. It inspired gathering around a mashtun and starting a brewery, which founders Riccardo and Kristen Kettle did.
Mashtun Brewing crafts a variety of beers and salutes the drinkers of the world with their logo, which includes a kereru. What is that? It’s a bird from New Zealand in the pigeon family, known for sizable stature and its penchant for getting hammered on fermented Karaka berries. Hey, draw inspiration wherever you can find it, right?
Mashtun Brewing Beers
The craft beers at Mashtun Brewing range from Pale Ales to IPAs to Porters and Ambers.
At our latest look, the beers on tap included:
- Frosty Trails Pale Ale
- Salted Caramel Banana Pudding Milkshake IPA
- Lake Beast Lurking in the Deep Porter
- Keylime Hazy IPA
- Lake Daze Mosaic -Hazy IPA
- Campfire Amber Ale
- Paloma Pale Ale (with Tequila, grapefruit and lime!)
- Trevors Dream Cycle Orange Creamsicle Milkshake IPA
- Ticket to Paradise Hard Seltzer
They also do Old Fashioned cocktails and Espresso Martinis on draft, along with a rotating selection of additional cocktail creations and other breweries’ selections as guest taps.
New beers are always rotating in and out, too!
Mashtun Brewing is also known for their grilled cheese panini sandwiches. With nine variations on the menu ranging from the straight-up basic to a BBQ, a Shroomschetta, Cali Club, Tomato Basil, a Reuben style, Italian, even a variation on a Cubano, you’ll find something that airs well with your taste buds and your beer selection.
It was a VERY tasty sandwich. You can choose from a variety to pair with your beer(s).
You’ll find Mashtun Brewing one block east of Highway 120 on Veterans Parkway, between Townline Road and Park Drive in a light industrial park building, less than 3/4 mile from Highway 50 and the interchange with the U.S. 12 freeway. Easy to get to!
