Racine Downtown Holiday Parade

Join Downtown Racine and Real Racine as the Belle City kicks off the holiday season Saturday, November 10th for the 17th annual Racine Downtown Holiday Parade and Community Tree Lighting Ceremony.

New pre-parade festivities kick off at 4:30 p.m. on Monument Square. Racine-based vocal group Bounding Main will perform a unique blend of maritime and holiday themed songs. Local 12-year-old singing sensation and winner of 2018 Racine’s Got Talent, Alahna Rae, will then lead up to the parade with a few songs of her own! There will also be balloon twisting for the kids plus hot chocolate and cookies for sale.

At 5:30 p.m. the Racine Downtown Holiday Parade officially begins as dancers, carolers, characters and Santa Claus himself will be in attendance. Other exciting entries include a Norwegian Viking boat by Sons of Norway, decorated tractors by CNH Industrial and the crowd favorite, “Big Cart” by Festival Foods. Make sure the kids bring their letters to Santa. The United States Postal Service mail carriers will be walking the parade route collecting these letters making sure they arrive at the North Pole in time for Christmas.

Immediately after the parade, head back to Monument Square for a few more holiday performances by Park High School Choir and an encore by Alahna Rae. Wrapping up the night will be the lighting of our Community Holiday Tree with Mayor Cory Mason.

With the Holiday Parade falling on the weekend of Veteran’s Day, to honor our Veterans American Flags will be handed out on Monument Square during the pre-parade and the parade will be led off with a Veteran’s Salute by the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association.

Also new to this year’s Racine Downtown Holiday Parade and Community Tree Lighting Ceremony is the Warm Accessories Drive, which provides essential winter items like scarves, gloves, mittens and hats for area charities. Items can be dropped off at Monument Square anytime from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated!

Make sure you get downtown early (via Highways 11, 20, 32, or 38) to find parking, reserve your parade viewing location and get started on your holiday shopping list at a variety of unique downtown merchants. Parking can be found at the Lake Avenue Ramp (300 Lake Avenue), Civic Centre Ramp (501 Lake Avenue) and the McMynn Ramp (120 7th Street) all day for only $2. All parking is just off Highways 20 and 32.
