Hudson Hot Air Affair« Back to Events
Hudson bursts with color in the middle of winter with the balloon-filled Hot Air Affair! The city celebrates its 29th year of hot air ballooning in 2018 and bumped it a week later than normal because of the Super Bowl in Minneapolis. Enjoy not only hot air balloons, but the torchlight parade with kazoo marching bands on Friday night, the Moonglow Saturday, a Marketplace and Craft Fair, pancake breakfast, smooshboarding, snow volleyball, geocaching, bird watching, dances, and much more.
Check out the “Up, Up & Away” 5K Fun Run & Walk, starting at 10am Saturday. The Taste of Hot Air Affair at the Hudson House Grand Hotel happens Saturday night with spirits, wine and beer tastings, chocolates and cheeses samplings, along with hot hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. The evening includes live music by Boondoggle, a wine pull and a silent auction fundraiser with proceeds from this event will be donated to Hudson Relay For Life, A Cloud Walkers Team Fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Tickets for Taste of Hot Air Affair are $15 pre-sale or $20 at the door.
Hudson is right along the gorgeous St. Croix River on the border with Minnesota, where I-94 and U.S. 12 enter the state. Highway 35 runs through the center of town. The beautiful Willow River State Park is nearby. Check out Hudson whenever you can, but if you can make it for Hot Air Affair, it’s definitely going to be a soaring good time!
