DESCRIPTION:Ashley For The Arts celebrates music\, art\, and supporting nearby communities with a spectacular three-day event August 7-9\, 2025. DESCRIPTION:Automobile manufacturing took place in Kenosha for more than 100 years. The Kenosha County Historical Society (aka the Kenosha History Center) celebrates the area’s industrial history\, including how Kenosha’s auto-making legacy shaped history through the 20th Century. Both the Museum and the Kenosha Homecoming Car Show help celebrate this legacy. \nThe Kenosha Homecoming Car Show is a signature event in the Kenosha Area. Typically held every three years\, the celebration runs July 22-27\, 2025 with a variety of events across multiple locations. The big car show/swap meet is Saturday\, July 26. This is among the largest AMC shows in the world! \nBring your car to show it\, or just come as a spectator. The Kenosha History Center recommends car owners and swap meet vendors preregister for the show/swap meet. Cars and Vendors can also register the day of the show. \n\nKenosha Homecoming Car Show Schedule of Events\nThursday 7/24\n4PM – 8PM: Evening Car Cruise-in at AMC Factory Site\, off of 22nd Avenue and 30th Avenue. For the first time ever\, the Homecoming Car Show Thursday Night Cruise-in will be held on the site where it all started. All Kenosha-made automobiles are invited to attend an evening cruise-in on the Nash/AMC/Chrysler Factory Site (now the Kenosha Innovation Neighborhood). Bring your car back to where it was manufactured; it is sure to be a nostalgic evening. The event will be part of the City of Kenosha’s 175th Anniversary Celebration. All Kenosha-made vehicles will enter from 56th Street. Spectator parking will be announced soon. \nFriday 7/25\n8AM – 4PM: Homecoming Car Show Swap Meet at Kennedy Park\, 4051 5th Avenue. They roar along Milwaukee’s lakefront Saturday\, July 19th and Sunday\, July 20th. \nAn “M” for Milwaukee at the Milwaukee Air & Water Show we snapped from Back Bay Park on Milwaukee’s East Side.\nExciting acts having performed in Milwaukee’s skies this July include the U.S. Navy P-8 Poseidon Patrol Aircraft\, U.S. Navy Leapfrogs Parachute Team\, the USAF T-38 “Talons”in 2-3 ship formation\, the return of the U.S. Air Force A-10 Warthogs\, the U.S. Navy F/A-18 Super-Hornet Tactical Demonstration Squadron\, the Wisconsin Air National Guard KC-135 Stratotanker straight from Milwaukee’s own 128th Air Refueling Wing base\, and the Firebirds X-treme Team. Solo aerobatics and stunts have been performed by Bill Stein\, Mike Wiscus\, Jack Knutson\, Matt Chapman\, and Lt. Named for native son and professional wrestler Reggie “Da Crusher” Lisowski\, Crusher Fest is a Wild combination of fun and competitive activities\, promising “cold beer\, polka\, live wrestling\, and more!” \nMr. Saloon Competition\nDa Crusher loved talking about his days growing up around saloons on the rough and tumble blue collar streets of South Milwaukee\, and the Mr. Saloon Competition salutes this with Keg Holding\, Trivia\, Throw-the-Drunk\, Sausage Eating\, and Beer Drinking – among other things – all in the pursuit of being crowned Crusherfest’s Mr. Saloon and walking away with a championship belt. The event will take place at Crusherfest on Sunday\, June 4th starting at 1pm. Men and women are welcome to participate. Drop in at both the Cedarburg Cultural Center for the Cedarburg Artists Guild’s annual juried Fall Show and the Wisconsin Museum of Quilts and Fiber Arts for special exhibits. Take a free haywagon shuttle to their location. \nOn Saturday from 11am-4pm\, check out the third Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off\, with some weighing in at well over 1\,000 pounds. DESCRIPTION:“Wo-Zha-Wa” means “fun time” in the Ho-Chunk language\, and Wisconsin Dells offers just that September 13-15! As one of the largest festivals in Wisconsin\, Wo-Zha-Wa is a three day extravaganza with delicious food\, a 100-unit parade\, rousing live music\, and arts and crafts that everyone can enjoy. \nWo-Zha-Wa’s flea market (Maxwell Street Days) always has new novel items to check out including gourmet dog treats\, hand-made works of art\, custom pieces of jewelry\, organic cosmetics\, and wood flowers made before your eyes. You can stroll through all these different stalls while chowing down on some of the festival’s favorite culinary treats\, like kettle corn and alligator on a stick. \nThe whole family can enjoy themselves at Wo-Zha-Wa. The yearly Wo-Zha-Wa parade is a spectacle filled with floats\, performers\, and music that fills the entire street. DESCRIPTION:Manitowoc celebrates Sputnik Fest due to an out-of-this-world experience on September 5\, 1962 when a piece of the Soviet satellite Sputnik IV crashed to earth\, just north of downtown right in the middle of 8th Street/U.S. 10/Highway 42. It was still glowing from the heat of re-entry when it landed! A brass ring in the street notes the exact spot of impact. The city celebrates Sputnik Fest to commemorate the glowing visitor’s anniversary\, where you’ll see some interesting costumes and space-related activities. Basically at Sputnik Fest\, science fiction rules the day – even though Sputnik itself was very real. See 5 Things about Sputnikfest in Manitowoc (and why you should go) for more on that. \nCircle marks the spot where a piece of Sputnik landed. It’s the whole reason for Sputnik Fest.\nThe landing site of that piece of Sputnikfest – which inspired this whole thing – is right in front of the Rahr-West Art Museum\, which hosts the event and holds a cast from the original piece of the spacecraft – the original was returned to the Russians – that is available for viewing all year. \nThe festival draws plenty of space fans – with Star Wars and Star Trek characters well-represented – costume contests\, music\, go-kart racing down 8th Street (there’s a bit of a hill towards the heart of downtown)\, food\, drinks\, and even an “alien drop”\, where hundreds of mini-alien figures are dropped from a cherry picker – some with prizes. Even the hosting group\, the Rahr-West Art Museum\, calls it a “wacky tacky” weekend. Music from bands like Bazooka Joe add to the fun! SUMMARY:Kites Over Lake Michigan
DESCRIPTION:Kites Over Lake Michigan is one of the largest kite festivals in the Midwest and attracts kite fliers from all over. Check out giant show kites\, precision stunt kite teams flying dual- and quad-line kites\, spectacular and colorful ground displays\, running of the bols\, and games for kids! Learn how to fly two and quad line stunt kites from the experts. \nKites Over Lake Michigan continues at Two Rivers High School with other activities taking place along Lake Michigan nearby. It will take place Saturday\, August 31st and Sunday\, September 1st. This includes a night fly on Saturday night\, conditions permitting. \n \nSince the High School serves as the festival grounds\, Walsh Field (on 22nd Street just before the turn into Neshotah Beach) will serve as the overflow parking area. A shuttle bus service will run between Walsh Field and the high school both days from 11 am to 5 pm. Please note that the bus will be limited to 23 people per trip to allow for social distancing\, more if family members living together are present. All those using the shuttle will have to be masked. Also\, pets are not allowed anywhere on school property.\nGood news: Free kite making for kids will continue\, taking place Sunday 9/2/24 at 9.00 am. \nGreat News: The Fireworks Show WILL take place\, and it will happen Saturday evening at 8 pm.
