DESCRIPTION:The Northern Wisconsin State Fair is always a fun-filled\, family event that brings folks back year after year to Chippewa Falls\, right along Historic U.S. 53 and today’s Highway 124. SUMMARY:Salmon-A-Rama
DESCRIPTION:Racine’s annual Salmon-A-Rama is a popular tournament open to all anglers on Lake Michigan\, with nine days of entertainment for the whole family! Now one of the largest freshwater salmon and trout tournaments in the world\, Salmon-A-Rama features participation categories like the off shore/Boat division\, on shore\, youth\, kayak\, Two-In-A-Boat and Super Sweepstakes. \nThe Grand Prize is a combination of $25\,000 cash and a 9.9-horsepower Yamaha outboard motor or the choice of a GMC Canyon\, Buick Encore or Chevrolet Camaro. There’s an additional $70\,000 in cash and prizes in several categories. A portion of the proceeds benefit the Lake Michigan fishery for future generations to enjoy. \nSalmon-A-Rama is not only a fishing tournament\, it’s also a festival. There will be something for everyone. There will be bands\, raffles\, a bags tournament\, pig roast\, smelt fry\, fish boil\, kids entertainment and so much more. \nSalmon-A-Rama kicks off at 12:01 am Saturday\, July 11th (so you might also say late Friday night) and it runs through 11 am on Sunday\, July 19th. DESCRIPTION:Festa Italiana is “your ticket to Italy” once again when it hits Milwaukee’s lakefront July 10th-12th\, 2026! This year\, Festa Italiana celebrates 48 years along Milwaukee’s beautiful lakefront. \nCheck out Flag-Throwers of the Florentine\, direct from Italy. For music\, check out great acts across six stages\, including the Children’s Stage. Headliners include Anthony Crivello\, George Busateri’s Spider George and the Web\, Louis Vanaria\, The Sicilian Tenors featuring Aaron Caruso\, Sam Vitale\, and Vincent Riccardi\, Agne\, Tre Bella\, Cory Pesaturo\, Graziana Maria Lazzaro\, and FLEMT – straight from Italy. DESCRIPTION:Along the Wisconsin-Illinois border you can go back to the 16th century at the Bristol Renaissance Faire. It’s a great summer weekend activity just west of Kenosha on the Illinois border! \nBristol Renaissance Faire runs Saturdays and Sundays July 5th though Labor Day\, September 1st (yes\, it runs that Monday and that’s the only Monday.) \n \nThe Kid’s Kingdom features the Castle Stage where children can get knighted\, a face-painting area (don’t worry\, it washes off eventually)\, hobbit houses\, an entrance area with five huge thrones that provide great photo opportunities\, and an air-conditioned rest area. \nA giant turkey leg slathered in barbecue sauce is an essential part of the Bristol Renaissance Faire experience\, but they also offer everything from Cornish pasties and bakery goods to vegan items and gelato. The number of entertainment stages now totals sixteen. Comedic sword-fighting\, ropewalking\, juggling\, fire-whipping\, acrobatics\, chalk art\, a variety of musicians\, and more. The Marketplace offers the work of nearly 175 artisans and crafters; you can find Scottish kilts\, leather masks\, bamboo flutes\, jester socks\, stage-combat-approved swords\, steampunkery\, and much more. This year’s Mile of Music 11 takes place July 30 – August 2\, 2026. \n \nThis grassroots festival was co-founded by Appleton marketing executive Dave Willems and Appleton/Nashville-based national recording artist and Grammy nominee Cory Chisel in 2013. DESCRIPTION:Sheboygan is the “Bratwurst Capital of the World” so it’s only fitting that Brat Days is one of their biggest celebrations! Taking place the first Saturday of August\, Brat Days dates back to 1953. It’s back again for 2026\, and this year it’s back to a TWO-DAY festival! DESCRIPTION:It’s an annual Labor Day weekend tradition in Prairie du Sac to toss cow “chips” at this annual Cow Chip Throw & Festival\, which happens Friday & Saturday\, September 4th & 5th this year. Dried out and surprisingly unoffensive to the nose\, these nuggets of nastiness get hurled into the air by kids and adults alike with the goal of the most distance as possible – with a crowd of onlookers often in the sights where they land. The current record is 248 feet\, but records were made to be broken! \nOf course\, that’s the main event; there’s also music with plenty of bands\, a “Tournament of Chips” parade Saturday morning\, kids’ activities including a pedal pull\, a Fine Arts & Crafts Fair\, a run/walk\, and much more. DESCRIPTION:Warrens is “Wisconsin’s Cranberry Capital\,” so it’s only fitting they host the World’s Largest Cranberry Festival! Held annually since 1973 (with\, of course\, the exception of 2020)\, the Warrens Cranberry Festival welcomes over 110\,000 visitors each year from places all over the world. Seriously\, when we went we met people from Australia and other countries throughout Europe and South America! \nTaking place the last full weekend of every September\, activities a’plenty abound. Enjoy a guided bus tours of cranberry marshes (brilliant red colors mean you should have your camera ready!) and bogs that show you the harvesting of these tasty\, nutritious\, UTI-fighting berries. \n \nIn town – and the festival truly takes over the whole town – enjoy block after block of vendors\, food stands\, and beverage stops. Over 1\,300 booths of arts & crafts\, antique & flea markets\, and farm market items can be explored and enjoyed. Plenty of fall produce is available with of course plenty of cranberry-based items including Cranberry Cream Puffs\, barbecue sauces with cranberry\, cranberry-inspired hot sauces\, and more. On Sunday\, September 27th at noon the largest band parade in Wisconsin will be featured. \nWarrens Cranberry Festival includes contests such as “Crazy for Cranfest”\, where guests can win special prizes for crazy or creative costumes. They also have prizes for the Biggest Berry Contest\, a Button Design Contest\, a Cranberry Chiffon Pie-Eating Contest\, a Flower Contest\, Marsh Medallion Hunt\, a Photography Contest\, Quilt & Needlework Contest\, Scarecrow Contest\, and more. \nGetting to Warrens Cranberry Festival (aka Cranfest):\nWarrens is a small\, pleasant town north of Tomah in Monroe County. To access Warrens\, follow I-94 to Exit 135 (County EW) by the Three Bears Resort. U.S. 12\, which runs basically parallel to I-94 in this area\, also comes close to Warrens. Highways 21 and 173 are just a few miles away\, closer to Tomah but they still bring you close.
