SUMMARY:Rockerbox MotoFest featuring AHRMA Vintage Racing at Road America
DESCRIPTION:The Vintage MotoFest featuring the American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association (AHRMA) is dedicated to preserving the heritage of racing motorcycles and promotes this heritage through events at legendary race circuits. Road America is a track favorite of competitive vintage riders because of its four-mile layout including\, high-speed straights\, multiple turns and undulating terrain. Several passing areas contribute to the competitive spirit and racing action. The highlight of the weekend is the 15th annual Rockerbox® motorcycle show\, which is widely known as the premier Wisconsin motorcycle show and party featuring an eclectic mix of Euro\, Japanese and American vintage café racers\, choppers\, sport bikes\, racing machines\, supermotos\, scooters\, and sidecars. All makes and models are welcome and you will find a mash of motorcycles competing for space alongside dealers and vendors of all things motorcycling. \nThe ride-in motorcycle show and competition on Saturday includes entrants from all over the country in competitive award classes showcasing the greatest in classic style\, fresh customization and all that is unusual and incredible. \nMeanwhile\, the grounds are packed with local and national vendors\, live music\, food\, refreshments\, a microbrew tasting\, arm wrestling tournament\, touring of the 4-mile road course\, stunt shows\, and of course a slow speed evening sunset cruise of the road course. Friday\, Saturday and Sunday the on-track activities feature vintage racing motorcycles from the 1920s to the early 70s and vintage superbikes from the 70s and 80s from AHRMA. DESCRIPTION:The 40th anniversary of the Wisconsin State Polka Festival takes place May 18-20\, 2018 in a new location – the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel at Mitchell International Airport! \nIf you’re a polka music aficinado\, or even if you’re not\, this is a fun time. The Wisconsin State Polka Festival is open to the public\, with a three-day pass available for $45\, daily admission options\, and children under 14 are admitted free. You might as well partake\, since polka is Wisconsin’s state music and the beats can’t be beat! \nThe music begins Friday\, May 18th at 5pm in two different ballrooms. The lineup includes Squeezebox with Molly and Ted\, the Zweifel Brothers\, Bob Korek Band\, and the Top Notchmen. These bands will alternate performances until 10:30pm. \nDance lessons commence Saturday morning (May 19th) at 10am. Squeezebox and the Mark Jirikovec Band will alternate in one ballroom from 12:30pm to 6:30pm. Steve Meisner will play from 6:30pm to 10:30pm in the same ballroom Saturday. In the second ballroom\, Kenny Brandt and the Hauser Hotshots will begin at 1pm and play off and on until 7pm. DESCRIPTION:Madison hosts the World Championship Cheese Contest again this year at the Monona Terrace and it will be a cheese lover’s paradise! Cheesemakers from all over the world descend on Wisconsin’s capital city for three days to judge over 3\,000 cheeses\, butters\, and yogurts. \nPreliminary judging rounds for the World Championship Cheese Contest are open to the public for FREE Tuesday\, March 6 and Wednesday\, March 7. Try some tasty samples as the judges do their thing and narrow it down to finalists and winners. \n \nThen\, Thursday night the 8th you can attend the Cheese Champion event. This ticketed event ($25\, in advance) lets you sample more than 50 of the best cheese from around the world. International cheese experts will be on hand to show you the intracicies of of cheese evaluation\, and of course you can pair cheeses with other foods and craft beers that will be available. SUMMARY:Westby Snowflake Ski Jump
DESCRIPTION:Westby features a ski jump complex with five jumps in Timber Coulee\, the largest of which is a 118-meter Olympic-sized hill used for national and international competitions. The Westby Snowflake Ski Jump Tournament happens the weekend of February 2-3 and it’s a blast! \nThe Large Hill Meet is held early each year in February and attracts not only U.S. ski jumpers but competitors from around the world. The four smaller hills at the site include a 65-meter hill and smaller 40\, 20\, and 10 meter hills for training junior jumpers. Numerous Olympic and world-class ski jumpers have competed at the Snowflake Ski Jumping Complex. \nEven though the Winter Olympics are just a couple of weeks away\, the Snowflake Ski Jump is expected to feature approximately 20 national and international athletes from countries including Norway\, Finland\, Slovenia and the United States. \nOn Thursday\, Feb. 1\, Snowflake will host hospitality night from 6-9 p.m.at the Westby Rod and Gun building in Timber Coulee where the 2017 Snowflake royalty\, Queen Faith Gardner and her attendants\, Alexis Mahan and Rebecca Buckles\, will meet and greet visitors. \nOn Friday\, Feb. 2\, there will be a kick-off breakfast at Borgen’s Café from 7-10 a.m. Opening ceremonies for the ever-popular “Friday Night Under the Lights” night jump will be held at 7 p.m.\, with competition slated at 7:30 p.m. There will also be a long standing jump after the regular competition. Live music by “High Mileage” will complete the evening at the Westby Rod & Gun in Timber Coulee from 9 p.m.-1 a.m. \nOn Saturday Feb. 3\, open training is scheduled from 9-11 a.m.\, followed by opening ceremonies at noon. Competition for the second day of the event kicks off at 12:30 p.m. followed by the long standing jump and awards ceremony. Weather permitting on Saturday there will be helicopter rides and horse-drawn wagon rides on the grounds. The ski club also funds a money pile for kids to collect coins. After the jump spectators are invited to attend a second live music event with “Blue Collar 40” at the Westby Rod & Gun from 3-7 p.m. \nThe 2017 ski button can be purchased in advance until Thursday\, Feb. 1 for $15. After that time\, buttons can be purchased at the gate the weekend of the event for $20. The button is good for both days of the tournament and are available at local businesses or can be purchased online. Children under 12 will be admitted free. \nSnowflake is also once again teaming up with Logistics Health Inc. of La Crosse to sponsor free admission for veterans to the Snowflake Ski Jump. All current and former military service members\, their spouses and their children (under the age of 18) will receive a special event button and be admitted to the two-day event free of charge. \nVeterans or service members will need to show a current military ID card or other proof of service such as VFW\, Legion\, DAV current membership card\, or a DD Form 214 (record of discharge) and photo ID. The Arctic Warrior 5k or 10k Obstacle Course Race will wind around Little St. Germain Lake and through trails of towering pines that will challenge you though variety of adventure obstacles including: a stuck in snow tire shuffle\, arctic stair challenge\, frozen switchback climb\, snowy tundra tunnel crawl and a frozen tire bike race to name a few. \nThe Obstacle Course Challenge is a Team event so bring your friends along (team sizes can range in size from 2-6). The Most Spirited Arctic Warrior Team will be recognized at 3:30 at the Wild Bear Grill & Pub. Proceeds from the Race will be shared with the St. Germain Non-Motorized Trail System Fund. DESCRIPTION:Big Bull Falls Blues Fest takes place this year on Friday\, August 18th and Saturday\, August 19th at Fern Island Park in downtown Wausau. This is Wisconsin’s longest running blues festival! VIP tickets are sold out\, but some general admission are still available. \nLineup: \nFriday\, August 18\nGates open at 4pm\, no carry-ins allowed\n5:00pm Altered Five\n7:00pm Reverend Raven\n9:00pm Toronzo Cannon \nSaturday\, August 19\nGates open at noon\, no carry-ins allowed\n1:00pm Moreland & Arbuckle\n3:00pm Mr. Sipp\n5:00pm Mike Zito\n7:00pm Samantha Fish\n9:00pm Tab Benoit \nBig Bull Falls Blues Fest Ticket Prices for 2016:\n2-Day General Admission: $45 in advance\, $50 at gate\nSaturday Only General Admission: $40 in advance\, $45 at gate\nFriday Only General Admission: $15 \nAdditional Information: \nCarry-Ins: Carry-ins are not allowed. A cooler full of ice only will be allowed. Large backpacks/bags will be subject to inspection. \nChairs: Lawn chairs are permitted. Tents and awnings of any kind are NOT permitted. VIP tickets do not include a chair to keep. Please bring your own chair. There are plastic ones in the VIP area but if you want to sit elsewhere\, we suggest bringing a chair! \nLodging: There are several hotels within 2 miles of the event including the Super 8\, Plaza\, and La Quinta. There are also the hotels of The Courtyard\, Super 8 Rib Mountain and hotels in Weston and Rothschild. \nCamping: We do not offer camping through the event. The Marathon County Parks Department offers various camp grounds. Contact them directly at 715-261-1550. \nPets: No pets are allowed at the Blues Fest. \nATM: There will be an ATM on-site. \nCredit Card: Big Bull Falls Blues Fest will take credit cards on-site for admission to the festival. All beverages and food must be bought with cash. \nSmoking: Smoking is allowed outside the tents. NOT under the tents. \nFood/Drinks: Food and Drinks will be sold at the fest. There will be a variety of vendors. There are no carry-ins allowed. \nRain: The festival will happen rain or shine! If there is lightning\, we will have to stop the music. \nApparel: There will be festival apparel for sale on-site! \nParking: The lot directly in front of the event is reserved for Handicap Parking only. Please use the city lots on River Drive including the Oak Island Lot. \nYou can reach Wausau to attend Big Bull Falls Blues Fest via I-39\, U.S. 51\, or Highways 29 or 52. SUMMARY:Oconto County Fair
DESCRIPTION:The 76th annual Oconto County Fair runs August 12-13 and 17-20 in Zippel Park in Gillett\, Wisconsin. \nHighlights will include a Youth-Decorated Cake Auction\, Human Foosball\, a Tractor Pull\, the Fairest of the Fair Competition\, and the Ultimate Grilled Cheese Contest! \nGrandstand shows will include family fun events like a 4X4 Truck Pull\, Farm Tractor Pull\, and a Draft Horse Pull. Of course\, being a county fair\, you’ll see plenty of animals from area farms. There will be a Goat Show\, Poultry Show\, Rabbit Show\, Swine Show\, Sheep Show\, Beef Show\, and much more… that’s a lot of shows. \nThe Exhibition Area will be open every day featuring vendors with a variety of products\, shows\, and more. You can enjoy live entertainment nightly\, plenty of eats\, drinks\, rides\, and fun. \nPlenty of specific additions will be announced as the Oconto County Fair date draws closer.
