DESCRIPTION:The Wisconsin Book Festival is Wisconsin’s premier literary event\, drawing 12\,000-15\,000 people for four days of author events. As the State Capitol and home to the University of Wisconsin\, Madison boasts an engaged and active literary community who have shown a dedication to supporting great author programming. \nThe Madison Public Library is committed to ensuring that all Wisconsin Book Festival events are free and open to the public and hosts the Wisconsin Book Festival Event Series throughout the year as a way of generating awareness about the festival and solidifying author programming in the community. \n \nBook genres include Art\, Poetry\, Fiction\, Childrens\, STEM\, Food\, Biographies\, Performances\, Wisconsin Authors\, and more. \nA year-long series of events leading up to and out of the annual festival keeps the public engaged with book programming\, and gives authors an incredible venue in Madison. Since creating the series in 2013\, the Wisconsin Book Festival has hosted more than 100 events for 15\,000 audience members\, including evenings with Atul Gawande\, Ruth Reichl\, Lois Lowry\, Sarah Vowell\, and John Scalzi. \nCheck the busy event schedule here. DESCRIPTION:Noted “Rascal” author Sterling North hailed from Edgerton (he graduated HS there in 1925)\, so they celebrate him with the annual Sterling North Book and Film Festival! This year’s takes place on Saturday\, November 7th at Edgerton High School. \nYear by year\, Edgerton works to transform their reputation towards being a literary capitol and Wisconsin’s book town. We might be in a small town\, but we think big! Each and every year the festival gets a little bigger and a lot better. It celebrates the eternal significance of the written word and works to open the world of literature to children of all ages. Meet a variety of authors and filmmakers\, including Jerry Apps\, Michael Perry\, Kathleen Ernst\, Jamie Swenson\, John Garofolo\, Susan Wehrley\, Patty Loew\, Rob Gard\, and more. \nIf you love the power of words\, this event is for you! Variety is the name of the game and there’s a lot to do – and read!
