DESCRIPTION:STOMP your way into 2019 with the 39th Running of the Samson Stomp & Romp at the Milwaukee County Zoo! Happening Sunday\, January 20\, 2019\, this popular race honors one of the most famous Zoo residents\, Samson\, the silverback gorilla (1950-1981). Money raised from the event supports all of the animals in the Zoo’s collection. There’s a 5K Competitive Run\, a 2-Mile Fun Run/Walk\, and 1-Mile Romp & 1/4-Mile “Mini Romp” designed for children. \nFees/Times:\n5K Competitive Run: $25 in advance\, $30 day of. Start time: 9:30am. Map2-Mile Fun Run/Walk: $25 in advance\, $30 day of. Start time: 10:15am. Map\n1-Mile Romp for Children: $10 in advance\, $30 day of. Start time: 10:45am. Map\n1/4-Mile Mini-Romp for Children: $10 in advance\, $30 day of. Start time: 11:00am. Map \nGet ALL of the details here at the Zoo’s website. Entry fees include a 100% cotton long-sleeved T-shirt\, Zoo admission\, beverage and parking for runner only. Race will be held rain or shine\, snow or cold\, however the Milwaukee County Zoo reserves the right to cancel due to severe weather or dangerous\, unforeseen race conditions. No refunds will be given. \nThe 5K race is officially timed and limited to 1\,500 runners; all races take place on public walkways throughout the Zoo. Due to safety concerns\, no strollers\, in-line skates or similar devices permitted. \nDuring the event\, take part in the mission of conservation by donating your old cell phones to the Zoo for recycling. The drop-off area is located in the Zoo’s U.S. Bank Gathering Place.
