Up North Sports Snow & Ice Fishing Consumer Show

The Up North Sports Snow & Ice Fishing Consumer Show is the largest snow and ice fishing show of the year, and it comes to Milwaukee the weekend of October 16-18 at the Wisconsin Center downtown.

This is your chance to see the largest inventory of 2021 Snowmobile and Ice Fishing Gear, equipment, and accessories in the same building! All the Top Manufacturers in both Ice and Snow including FXR, KLIM, 509, CASTLE X, FLY, BCA, DSG, TOBE in Snow and CLAM, ICE ARMOR, STRIKER, OTTER, STRIKEMASTER, 13 FISHING, ESKIMO, ION, MARCUM and RAZR in Ice Fishing will be there.

Wisconsin Fishing Expo


Wisconsin Fishing Expo logoThe Wisconsin Fishing Expo arrives at Exhibition Hall in Madison’s Alliant Energy Center February 28 – March 1, 2020 and continues to offer more than 125,000 square feet of exhibits!

In 2017, the Wisconsin Fishing Expo expanded for additional fishing- and hunting-related wildlife art and goods. In 2018, a new wing opened focusing on kayaks and other silent watercraft. This year, the Wisconsin Fishing Expo continues to add vendors and booths both upstairs and downstairs to further expand what you can explore!

You can still expect mom-and-pop fishing vendors with gear that anglers can’t find at box stores. There will also be a tremendous presence from some of the leading national brands in the fishing industry, including Clam, Berkley, Beaver Dam, ACME, Fenwick, Okuma, Gamakatsu, Ray Marine, Garmin, St. Croix, Fishing Hot Spots, Stren, and many, many more. For boats, over 20 brands will be ready to sell from top bets like Crestliner, Alumacraft, Bass Cat, Yar Craft, Tracker, Ranger, Triton, Smoker Craft, Bennington, and others.

You can also come through downtown via U.S. 151 and follow John Nolen Drive down the causeway. There’s so much else to see and do in Madison, too!

Salmon-A-Rama


Salmon-A-Rama, RacineRacine’s annual Salmon-A-Rama is a popular tournament open to all anglers on Lake Michigan, with nine days of entertainment for the whole family! Now one of the largest freshwater salmon and trout tournaments in the world, Salmon-A-Rama features participation categories like the off shore/Boat division, on shore, youth, kayak, Two-In-A-Boat and Super Sweepstakes.

The Grand Prize is a combination of $25,000 cash and a 9.9-horsepower Yamaha outboard motor or the choice of a 2018 GMC Canyon, Buick Encore or Chevrolet Camaro. There’s an additional $70,000 in cash and prizes in several categories. A portion of the proceeds benefit the Lake Michigan fishery for future generations to enjoy.

Salmon-A-Rama is not only a fishing tournament, it’s also a festival. There will be something for everyone. There will be bands, raffles, a bags tournament, pig roast, smelt fry, fish boil, kids entertainment and so much more.

Salmon-A-Rama kicks off at 12:01 am Saturday, July 13th (so you might also say late Friday night) and it runs through 11 am on Sunday, July 21st. Tournament headquarters are at Pershing Park, 500 Pershing Drive, on Racine’s lakefront. You can stop by the tent every day to check on the leaderboards and/or explore the variety of vendors, the fish weigh-in, and numerous fish cooking and smoking demonstrations.

Two Rivers Carp Fest

Carp Fest is held at Central Park in Two Rivers, where you can enjoy live music, food and refreshments through out the weekend. The annual Carp Fest is a family fun event centered around the prized Golden Carp, which is found in the East and West Twin Rivers that make up why Two Rivers has its name.

The Wisconsin Carp Championship catch and release fishing tournament is held over the weekend, where World Class Carp Anglers are fishing not only to be the WI State Carp Champion, but earn a spot on Team USA and fish the World Carp Championship.

Come out and cheer for one of the Anglers at pegs found at Vets Park, Paddlers Park and Washington Park locations on the East and West Twin Rivers. Bring the kids out to meet Cliff Cousteau the Carp Fest Mascot!

You can find Central Park along Washington Avenue in Two Rivers; Highways 42, 147, and 310 all bring you there.

Battle on Bago

Battle on Bago 2019 logoBattle on Bago is the Midwest’s largest ice fishing tournament and the family and fishing event of the year! The 12th annual Battle on Bago (winter version, there’s a summer one in June) takes place on Lake Winnebago February 22-23, 2019. There’s a Friday Fish Fry on the ice – weather permitting – with live music. Saturday’s Ice Fishing Tournament features over $275,000 in cash and prizes!

The Tournament starts Friday, February 22nd at 6:00 am; scales will be open from 4pm to 8pm. On Saturday February 23rd, scales will open at 9am; the tournament ends at 2:00pm. Tournament ticket sales END at 6am Friday, Februrary 22nd. You must be in line by 2:00 pm at Menominee Park in Oshkosh. Contestants will be allowed to fish Lake Winnebago and the Upper River Lakes: Lake Poygan, Lake Winneconne, and Lake Butte des Morts. Ice Fishing Permitted ONLY. You can weigh 1 fish per fishing ticket of any of the following species: Walleye (minimum length 14”), panfish (perch, bluegills, crappies), or whitebass. Any other fish not listed here will not be eligible for registration. Fish may be taken with tip-ups or by rod and reel. There is no age requirement on tournament participation.

Along with fishing, check out the heated tent and enjoy a great fish fry and other food from 5-10pm, plus live music from 7:30pm-11pm Friday night. The Raffle will be held on Saturday at 5pm. FREE Admission to all non-fishing events!

You can get tickets here. Fishing tickets are $30. You can also buy tickets are various locales in the Oshkosh area, as well as Fleet Farm stores statewide. You also need a valid fishing license from the Wisconsin DNR (888-936-7463).

You can get to Menominee Park in Oshkosh by hitting I-41 and heading into town or accessing downtown Oshkosh using Highways 21, 26, 44, 76, 91, or U.S. 45. A lot of roads lead to Oshkosh… by gosh.

Burlington Jaycees Off the Hook Ice Fishing Derby


Get your ice fishing gear ready!! The Burlington Jaycees are hosting their 8th Annual Off the Hook Ice Fishing Derby on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Fischer Park in Burlington, WI. With over $5,000 in prizes and raffles up for grabs, you can take your chances on raffle prizes in our heated tent, or compete in the always exciting fishing derby and reel in the largest fish. Fishing competition opens at 8 a.m. and closes at 1 p.m. Registration, Beer, Food, Coffee, Restroom Facilities, Judging and Raffles are all located on the Boat Launch at Fischer Park located Hwy 11 in Burlington. Parking is free in Fischer Park.
Registration to the derby is $5.00, and there will be awards for first place and second place Bass, Northern and Walleye. All fish must meet legal requirements, and must be alive to register in the derby which runs from 8am – 1pm. All fishermen must practice good judgement regarding ice fishing and its associated risks.

This event is not weather dependent; they’ll be serving food, beer, meat raffles and music in the heated tent on the Fischer Park boat launch.

Raffle drawings begin at 2:30 p.m. and include,

Fischer Park is along Browns Lake, home of the Browns Lake Aquaduck Water Ski Team during the summer. The Jaycees’ Off the Hook Ice Fishing Derby is a great winter event on the lake when it’s in its solid form. You can reach the park along Durand Avenue (City Highway 11) east of downtown and just west of where the Burlington Bypass is now, which officially carries Highways 11, 36, and 83 now. Highway 142 is close by.

National Championship Musky Open

National Musky Open, Eagle RiverThe 33rd Annual National Championship Musky Open Tournament runs in Eagle River August 17-19, 2018, sponsored by the Eagle River Area Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Center and Musky Clubs Alliance of Wisconsin, Inc. It’s the World’s Largest amateur Musky tournament!

The Grand Door Prize is a 2018 Mercury Powered Ranger Boat with a RangerTrail trailer. Other prizes have been supplied by Shimano, PowerPro Line, G Loomis Tackle, Lowrance, St. Croix Rods, Shoeder’s RV & Marine, Super Slayer Tackle Company, Musky Hunter Magazine, Minn Kota, Fittante Taxidermy/Replicas, H3O Polarized, Musky Bumper, Days Inn of Eagle River, Enticer Tackle, General Beer Northwoods, Suick Lure Company, Waterworks Specialists and Z Leaders Fishing Rigs.

This free family festival in Fondy features fish – with an emphasis on walleye (and that was all the alliteration we could work in one line.)

Plenty of live music, games, attractions including FamilyLand, a Strongman competition and tournaments in basketball, volleyball, and fishing … all capped with the Mercury Marine 38th Annual National Walleye Tournament.
