Stockholm hosts a very nice “A Women’s Weekend Stockholm Style,” along Highway 35 in this lovely town along the Mississippi River November 4-5, 2017. It’s a great time to take a moment to slow down and recharge, treat yourself, connect with friends, shop locally handcrafted items, and meet the artists.
Here are the highlights of A Women’s Weekend Stockholm Style:
SANDY’S CLOTHING AND ART
Two of their most beloved artists will be there on Women’s Weekend: guest artists Lori Monson (Painted fiber art transformed into wearables) & Helen Wang (Limited edition jewelry pieces created with precious metals, precious & semi-precious stones, genuine Swarovski crystals and intriguing organics) will be at Sandy’s for a meet-n-greet. Browse their amazing collections while you’re there.
“Take a Break Station” Rest and relax from your busy day of shopping with coffee and a homemade treat.
WIDESPOT PERFORMING ARTS
WideSpot will be hosting a band from the Twin Cities called Salsa del Soul, who play music in the salsa tradition. Caribbean-based, this music naturally inspires dancing. Tickets are $15, with doors opening at 6:30 for a 7 pm curtain. WideSpot is not handicapped accessible. They have a bar serving craft beers, cider, wine, and soda.
MAIDEN ROCK WINERY & CIDERY
Saturday 1-3pm –For $40 you can create your very own holiday masterpiece… All while enjoying a glass of your favorite Maiden Rock Winery & Cidery hard cider or wine! Bring your girlfriend’s, aunts, grandma’s and sisters! Makin’ Art Paint Parties are for everyone and no experience is needed. Their paint experts walk you through all the steps to creating your very own artwork. Recommended for ages 12 to 110… Though we do have to limit the adult beverages to those over 21.

Meet-n-Greet with Bitten Birch Bark artist Robyn Foster & featured pieces by Ann Mooney Designs.
THE PURPLE TURTLE ARTISAN COLLECTIVE
Trunk show with local jeweler, CS King, who produces Earth-inspired, dark-roasted jewelry. Also, Beth Yelesky will be showcasing her skin and self care products.
The Palate will feature Judy Krohn serving appetizers on Saturday. Recipes for the appetizers will be available and Judy will be here to give you any needed pointers.
Trunk show with Robbin Firth from Heart Felt Silks. Extraordinary handcrafted fashion, and home decor in Eco dyed felted wool and silk. Scarves, runners, clothing and more.

Debuting a NEW creation for womens weekend! FYRA: four flaky wedges of our world famous crust baked with cinnamon and sugar, topped with cardamon whipped cream, lingonberry sauce and local honey. Definitely tasty!

Felted Tree Class
Sunday, November 5th @ 1pm
Felt a winter tree to adorn your table, mantle, or give as a gift. Using hand dyed and natural, straight and curly merino wool locks, create 2-3 textured trees. Learn the fundamental felting techniques of working with a resist and the Palm Washboard felting tool. Good for beginners and beyond. These trees make great gifts! Robbin Firth from Heartfelt Silks will be instructing this class & the fun will take place at Stockholm Pie & General Store.
Antique Future is focusing on the good that comes when women inspire and build each other up rather than tear each other down. All weekend, featured Artist/Owner Sarah Smith will feature new collage pieces inspired by a friend’s poetry. Sarah will also be introducing her line of aromatherapy colognes. Featured Artist Christie Karow will display her nature inspired jewelry on Saturday and lead a DIY project- inspirational rock painting. Other vendors are here for the weekend with beauty and gift items. Antique is offering a special challenge too: Bring your story of how another woman in your life positively influenced/inspired you to be better in some way. Please type or handwrite your story and include a photo if possible. Stories will be pinned to the wall for everyone to read. Receive a coupon for 10% off your entire purchase when you bring us your story. The ‘Most Powerful Story’ will win a gift basket of locally made goodies.
LENA’S LUCKY STAR FOOD & COCKTAILS
** The Wisconsin Cheese Curd Competition takes place from 11 am – 4 pm, where you can volley a cheese curd into the beer pail and get one dollar off your tab.
