Milwaukee Oktoberfest« Back to Events
The Milwaukee Oktoberfest has moved to Pere Marquette Park right downtown, and is still sponsored by Spaten and Sprecher Brewing! The fun includes traditional German brass bands, Schuhplatter folk dancing, singing, yodeling, sing-alongs and dancing for everyone. Delicious and authentic German food is available, from huge pretzels and brats to a variety of specialties from the Milwaukee Brat House. Of course there’s plenty of beer on tap imported and domestic – as well as wine, soft drinks and coffee.
Also check out the Wiener Dog Show, a Bags Tournament, the Miss Oktoberfest Competition, Usingers Brat-Eating Contest, the Stein Hoisting Competition, and more. The festivities take place September 29-October 1 and then October 6-8 (basically, Friday-Sunday both weekends.)
Don’t forget the “Das Boot Bar Crawl” on Saturday, starting at noon at the Loaded Slate on Old World Third Street. Each bar will decorate with a German theme and participants will have the chance to try a different Oktoberfest Beer, essentially making it a bar crawl and beer festival combined. Each participant will receive a plastic liter Das Boot that also gives them Jagermeister drink specials from Friday-Sunday back at the main grounds.
It’s all based in downtown Milwaukee at Pere Marquette Park, between Kilbourn & State Streets (U.S. 18), Old World 3rd Street and the Milwaukee River, across from the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts. And when you go, check out the construction on the new Arena district nearby!
