Madison Winter Festival« Back to Events
Capitol Square transforms into a wonderland of winter activities at the Madison Winter Festival, attracting over 20,000 spectators, winter enthusiasts, and athletes! Over 90 truckloads of snow will transform the Capitol Square into a race and recreational venue the weekend of February 13-14.
Cross country ski around the square; the inside lanes of the Square will be closed off for family oriented activities such as snow and ice sculpting, sled hill rides, snowshoeing, winter-themed museum tours and much more!
You can also slide down the hill along MLK on a sled, explore the Winter Village, the Madison Children’s Museum rooftop activities, or the DreamBank hosted by American Family Insurance. Other fan favorites scheduled throughout the weekend include the Frosty 5K Run & Walk, Fat Bike, Snowshoe Scurry and Skijoring races, the Frosty 1.5 Mile Dog Jog, Kids’ Fun Run and other fun and festive outdoor activities.
Admission is FREE and the fun is practically unlimited! Activities open at 9:30am on Saturday, February 13th and conclude at 4:00pm on Sunday, February 14th.
