Stone Harbor Resort in Sturgeon Bay is the epicenter for the annual Fire & Ice Festival, happening February 16-17, 2018 right along the waters of the bay in Door County. Enjoy the beauty of winter at an event So Cool, it’s Hot!
Professional carvers begin working on their creations Friday, February 16th. Stroll the downtown streets as you watch things develop, and of course enjoy shopping, dine, imbibe in beverages, or just get your Fitbit steps in while you watch.
All the fun begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday with a citywide ice and snow carving competition featuring novice, intermediate, advanced, and professional artists.
Pound some metal with professional blacksmith, James Viste. He will be tapping steel in Martin Park, on the corner of Third Ave. & Oregon St. James Viste will be at Martin Park from 10a.m.-noon, and 1-3p.m. (weather permitting).
Spend the day perusing our unique shopping districts while artists transform blocks of ice into art. Printed event maps with ice block locations are available at local businesses or by visiting the Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center (36 S. Third Ave). CAST A VOTE for your favorite ice carving by filling out the People’s Choice Award ballot included with each map.
