Lion’s Tail roared into downtown Neenah in fall 2015, occupying part a former bank building right along Highway 114/Commercial Street – part of the original U.S. 41 route through town (going back a LONG way.)

The Tap Room inside Lion’s Tail Brewing offer a dozen beers on draft, a mix of their own and some guest selections. Their own brews include the popular #90 Red Vienna Lager, Juice Cloud New England IPA, the Too Caught Up IPA, Boundary Waters Canadian-style Lager, and Czech Please.. a Czech-style Pilsner. They have a deal with nearby Broken Tree Pizza so you can have wood-fired pizzas to accompany your beers. Snacks are also available and you are welcome to bring your own food in; they invite you to explore takeout from a number of restaurants in Neenah’s downtown area.

Getting back to the beer, Lion’s Tail Brewing does focus on local sourcing. They source malt and grain from nearby Chilton (across Lake Winnebago), hops from farms in Sauk County, and of course local water. Their yeast comes from both Neenah and Chicago, depending on the style of beer being brewed.

It’s a few miles off I-41, and about two miles south of the southern end of Highway 47 in Menasha. The Bergstrom-Mahler Museum of Glass is close by, and a number of other craft breweries are in the area – perfect for a crawl!
