Ahoy, it’s June! Among other fun summer activities, Port Washington’s beautiful harbor is about to be invaded – by pirates. The Port Washington Pirate Festival hits town this weekend, along with pirate ships, tons of activities, great music, food, fun, and more.
The Pirate Festival includes the Thieves Marketplace, a Gruel Galley, a Buccaneer Bash, Parade, Children’s activities, demonstrations, educational exhibits, musicians, comedians, a Pirate Ship, daily deck tours and numerous sail opportunities for you. Dairyfest in Marshfield (Hwys 10, 13, 80, 97), with the Cheese Chase, dairy breakfast, and plenty to explore. The Wisconsin ACO Tournament welcomes the state’s top bags/cornhole players this same weekend, where you can check out the action and enjoy “Hub City” several different ways afterwards, from art galleries to breweries to historic sights and shopping.
Dairy Day at the MOOseum in Fort Aktinson (Hwys 12, 26, 89, 106) celebrates this diary-filled first weekend of June with a variety of dairy-related exhibits,
First Fridays in Racine Friday night downtown and the Wind Point Lighthouse Climb to the Top just north in Wind Point on Sunday. Enjoy great activities, art, carriage rides, shopping, music, and food in Monument Square on Friday afternoon into evening and then take in the gorgeous view from atop the circa 1880 Wind Point Light, the tallest and oldest operating lighthouse on the Great Lakes!
Carp Fest in Two Rivers (Hwys 42, 147, 310) celebrates the city’s fishing history, serving as the carp fishing championships as people from all over cast their lines in the East Twin and West Twin Rivers. Explore Rogers Street Fishing Village, take in an ice cream sundae where it was invented, and more!
The Outta Sight Kite Flight Festival (that’s a mouthful) in Kenosha, creating colorful skies above the city along Lake Michigan with amateur and professor kiters, music, food, fun, and so much more! Highways 32, 50, and 158 bring you in.
